August 4, 2026 - The Green Party of California strongly opposes the construction of new hyperscale Data Centers and demands strict regulation of existing data centers’ expansion and operation. Across California, the alarming and widely un-regulated growth of hyperscale data centers is jeopardizing communities’ health and wellbeing, overwhelming utilities, draining aquifers, creating heat islands, destroying ecosystems, encroaching on public lands, and leaving ratepayers to pick up the massive cost of an expanding energy infrastructure.
July 8, 2026 - The Green Party of California’s statewide General Assembly endorsed the Billionaire Tax Act by a vote of 98% in June, calling on California’s billionaires to pay a wealth tax. The California Billionaire Tax Act would enact a one-time 5% tax on California’s billionaires in order to replenish the cuts that President Trump has made to healthcare, education, SNAP, and other social service programs.
AB 1790, endorsed by GPCA, will repeal the tax haven scheme known as "Water's Edge" that allows corporations to hide profits offshore, and can recover hundreds of billions of dollars in taxes for the state annually. #UnRigCA
June Primary Voter Guide and Election Results - At least 13 California Greens are on the ballot or are write-ins in the June 2026 Primary elections. Early results show Greens earned over 2 MILLION VOTES. GPCA also endorsed four Peace and Freedom candidates as a part of our LEFT UNITY SLATE. Tuesday, March 31, 2026 - Gubernatorial candidate Dr. Butch Ware, is filing a federal lawsuit and an appeal in CA following a ruling by Sacramento Superior Court Judge in support of the California Secretary of State’s decision to exclude Dr. Ware from the June primary ballot due to a technicality. Dr. Ware vows to legally pursue his right to ballot access.

September 21 - Monday, September 21st marks both the 39th anniversary of the United Nations International Day of Peace and the 19th anniversary of the vote to pass the post-9/11 Authorization for Use of Military Force, or AUMF. On a day dedicated to “education and public awareness on issues related to peace,” the United States Congress and the President agreed to make war the perpetual state of the country and, therefore, the world.
Green values emphasize the sanctity of life and the peaceful resolution of conflicts. Disarmament isn't just a desirable end result of these goals, it is also an important step toward attaining them.
